Education Goals

1. Why we were established

Educational needs have evolved because of substantial changes in the teacher training system in Taiwan and the increasing need for psychological and consulting talent (whether in schools, businesses, or local communities). In response, our department continues to upgrade and ensure the relevance of our equipment and the qualifications of our teachers, using our advantage in psychology and counseling to pioneer new fields of professional development and provide a more diverse suite of services to society. In addition to training psychological, consulting, and counseling professionals for schools, we provide relevant training and consulting services for business, industry, and local communities.
This department began with the establishment of a research institute. The Counseling Postgraduate Program was first established in 1999, the Graduate Institute of Educational Psychology and Counseling was then established in 2001, and, uniting the program and institute into one department, the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling was established in 2015. Undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and those in in-service  master’s programs attend a single class rather than being split up.
